War is proclaimed between the Seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. She could have simply run from Satan and the tree, but Eve didnt take Gods way of escape. God ordained that the pain with which women bring children into this world be an example of the pain they experience more generally in life. Eve tried to become a god by rebelling against God. Often neglected in favor of more "exciting" prophecies, this first prophecy holds the fundamental principles for understanding the nature of Satan's relationship to Christ and the church, woman's relationship with man, man's relationship with nature, and sin's role in human suffering. e. The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate: Adams attempt to blame Eve is completely consistent with human nature. you shall eat bread, Until you return to the ground, from which you were taken; For you are dust, and to dust you shall return. But man was only sent to till the ground out of which he was taken. He drew Eve into a discussion with him and planted the seed of doubt about Gods Word, and he exposed Eves incomplete understanding of Gods Word. The devil tempts them, persecutes and slays them; and so bruises the heel of Christ, who is afflicted in their afflictions. (Genesis 3:21) God clothes Adam and Eve in the skins of animals. Eve misquoted Gods command to Adam. Fig leaves have something of a prickly quality, which would make for some pretty itchy coverings. i. i. Obviously, they covered their genital areas.
